This is probably the only campsite that we have been to that we would go back to! Very relaxed atmosphere, the kids loved the play area and the big field we pitched our tent in. Excellent showers/toilet and a spacious covered dish washing area. Free use of a fridge freezer. OK its not perfect but I challenge anyone to find a better campsite! |

What a fantastic Campsite. Only a few miles from home but felt like hundreds of miles. We had a brilliant weekend and the staff couldn't have been more helpful and friendly. Nothing was too much trouble. Spotlessly clean and tidy, and the children enjoyed the falconry and football coaching. We will definately visit again, and recomend to others. Thank you. Superb little site and not too busy between the bank holidays. We were also blessed with the weather- sunny and warm most days. Though the wind did get up at one point, and the staff were helpful in allowing us to pitch in a more sheltered spot.
We were expecting our first child at the time and will be happy to go back again now he's here. |

A lovely site with friendly staff and nice added touches like music in the (immaculate) showers, plus a drying room. Possibly quite an exposed site in windy weather but definately one we shall go back to anyway. |

Had a lovely New Year break here in Cornwall. Site 1st class, great new shower block, generous pitches and a friendly welcome. WiFi access a great benefit to us. A great location for St. Austell, Mevagissy, Looe, Eden Project, Plymouth etc. Written directions off this site spot on (don`t trust a satnav!). A "gem" of a find at a competitive price. |

Stayed during the cold start to 2010 - 2 to 3 inches of ice and snow, yet despite this, the owners managed to make the welcome warm and friendly.
Great facilities and the warm and clean toilet block offered a welcome respite from the freezing conditions.
Highly recommended because if they can make -5c bearable then the rest of the year will I'm sure, be great.
Nice location too. 6 or 7 miles west of Plymouth and a few miles north of some beautiful coastline.
Everything you could need and very reasonably priced too.

What a super site! We have been caravanning for the best part of 30 years all over the UK and Europe. This was the first outing in our recently acquired motorhome, health reasons caused us to abandon the caravan.
Without doubt Dolbeare is as good as any site we have ever visited and better than most. The staff are more than helpful in particular Nigel. We had a problem getting the right connection for our digital aerial, tried several places on the way down to no avail. Nigel appeared with the correct bit, attached it to our aerial lead and proceeded to set the new TV up. Thank you Nigel!
We would recommend Dolbeare with no reservations, go and enjoy your visit

Thanks to all at Dolbeare for a lovely week.
A very friendly atmosphere and make to feel ‘part of the family’ – maybe the naughty 14 year old J.
Facilities were always very clean and to a very high standard. Staff are friendly and very useful for local knowledge and advice – as a result recommend the steak night and quiz down the local for example.
A special mention to Nigel who helped us with a flat car battery on our second morning, although watch out for him helping your other half on the giant chess board!
We agree that Satnavs should not to be trusted around Cornwall, and the directions on this website are certainly the best route.
Thanks

Fabulous campsite. Its the best I've ever been to & for my husband and kids first camping trip we couldnt have picked a better site. Unfortunately the weather could've been better and thought we were going to get blown away by hurricane bill!! And thanks Ian for coming to our rescue when the tent pole broke. I would highly recommend this site to anyone great for visiting cornwall & devon and really safe environment for kids to play. The only suggestion I would make is the possibilty of anothr fridge/freezer in the summer house. |

Just had 15nights stay and could have stayed 15 more. The site is excellent and all the facilities are clean and well kept. Our two boys aged 10 and 8 have really enjoyed the football and archery and have made lots of friends. It is ideally situated for exploring cornwall whilst been nice and quite in the evenings when we wanted to relax. We would definatley book again eventhough it is a six hour drive for us to get there. |

We had a lovely holiday and the site is lovely and clean and lots to do in the play area for the kids. The only thing I would suggest is for a proper field for dog walking where they could go for a run.
I would recommend the site and access to the internet was a great help.
Thank you again |

Clean and tidy site with good facilities (shower room/toilets/washing up area). Good location for getting to/from attractions. Bathroom attendant was very friendly and helpful.
Would not agree that the site is dog-friendly. No off-lead area or access around site for dogs, disappointed they weren't welcomed like other places we visited (although when I required emergency details of a local vet I was assisted with great appreciation). On this basis though, I would not return, if I wasn't a dog owner I may reconsider.

Loved this site! Great layout, really tidy with super facilites especially the family shower rooms - the check-in process was welcoming and efficient and there was a lovely welcome BBQ for the new arrivals, my 2 girls loved the play equipment and made lots of 'holiday friends'!- this is a fantastic base for exploring the area - and we had great weather most days to top it all off! We will definitely be back and I have already recommended it to lots of friends! |

Lovely clean family site, convenient for both Devon & Cornwall. Peaceful setting without noisy clubhouse/bars, or swimming pools. Beautiful shower/washing up blocks with free hot water and radio playing during daylight hours.
Would suggest that guests are limited to a certain amount of items for the free freezer as some took advantage and left hardly any room for ice packs. A second shower block in the other field would make the site perfect but I guess you can't have everything! |

Being Camping Club members, we don't normally stay on 'commercial' sites, as we have had bad experiences in the past, but we were very pleasantly surprised!
We had a lovely 12 night stay, and would highly recommend it to anyone. The site was very clean and the staff really approachable and friendly.
I would also like to thank our neighbours (I think it was Janet & Richard!) for their help when Kev needed stitches at the local hospital after banging his head on a window. People are so good when you need help.
Thanks everyone - we'll be back!! |

Well, what can we say - what a great campsite! We stayed for 4 nights, camping with electric, for the bargain price of £40 and had a wonderful week.
The facilities are brilliant, the shower blocks were immaculate, with space age shower controls that you don't even need to touch. A fridge-freezer was also a stone's throw away.
We didn't have kids with us (although we are expecting our first!) the space and activities for the little ones seemed to be very good, with giant chess and giant connect 4 and a small adventure playground.
Also, the camping field has a huge amount of space in the centre of the field for ball games etc., so it is ideal for familes.
A great friendly site with helpful staff. Thanks to Nigel for all his tips and advice on where to eat etc. and for making us feel so welcome!
We will be coming to stay again!

All the best

We visited over half term week with our two girls and had a fabulous time. There is lots of space for kids to play and the facilities are very clean and spacious, especially the family shower room. The owners were very kind and friendly, and the information hut was very useful. You must also visit the Bullers Arms just down the road as the food was excellent and very reasonable. On steak night and curry night it was just £5 each! The only suggestion I could make would be that as the site allows people to take dogs, it would have been nice for us none dog owners not to have them in tents either side of us as we did get woken on several mornings by barking. Lovely site and to be recommended though. |
