Our nearest beaches tend to be quiet without the amenities of larger resorts - there are some lovely beaches suitable for all ages and abilities. A short drive will take you to the beaches at Seaton, Downderry and Whitsand Bay - all are dog friendly, Seaton has easy access and a great beach cafe and Whitsand Bay has RNLI lifeguards.

Seaton is a sandy beach and has lovely walks when the tide is out to Downderry and the Inn on the Shore pub overlooking the sea. There are pleasant walks along the Seaton Valley.
Access to the beach is level. Good cafe on beach open all year except Christmas Day. Dogs allowed.

Portwrinkle is a delightful beach. The beach is popular with families and extends along the coast. There is a small cafe above the beach.

Sharrow Beach at Whitsand Bay is a sandy beach with rockpools. Reached by a steep path. Lifeguards on beach. Frequented by families. Dogs allowed.

Looe is a pleasant working fishing town with much to see. The seafront sandy beach is popular with families and extends some way along the coast to the east. There are good facilities with many cafe's and restaurants. There are also toilets right by the beach.

Kingsand is east facing, fairly sheltered with sandy beach and rockpools. Facilities nearby including cafe/pub. An old village renowned for smugglers in the past. Car park in Kingsand and walk to Cawsand. Dogs allowed all year.

Lantic Bay is an isolated and attractive cove of sand with some shingle. South facing with views towards Pencarrow Head. Beach is situated in between Polperro and Polruan. Reached by steep path - 15 minute walk. Two National Trust car parks 15 - 20 minutes walk from beach. Dog friendly.
There can be a strong rip current in certain conditions and there is a steep shelf very close to shore.

A stunning sandy beach joined by causeway to Burgh Island. Shallow water for paddling and rock pools for exploring. Suitable for families. Great for windsurfing and kite surfing. Visit Burgh Island by unique sea tractor or walk across the causeway at low tide - the Pilchard Pub on the island is worth a visit. Cafe on beach. Beach Wheelchairs available to hire from the Venus Cafe. Dog friendly.

Polzeath is lovely sandy beach and has one of the finest surfing beaches in Cornwall and you will often see dolphins and seals riding the waves alongside the surfers! Park on beach. Facilities nearby. Seasonal dog ban.

Watergate Bay is a large beautiful sandy beach which is a great surfing beach. Good for kite surfing and kite buggy's. Surfing lessons/wet suit hire available.
