Is there a shop on site?

We have a small shop selling essentials and some locally produced food, local meat from the butcher and local farm eggs. We sell freshly baked bread in the mornings and takeaway food in the evenings. We also sell sweets, ice creams, wine, beer and cider. We have a few items for caravan and tent repairs. top

What are the hours of the shop?

In the summer and peak periods, the shop will be open from 8.30am until 11am and then 4pm until 7pm every day. top

Where can I find the nearest supermarket?

Waitrose is at the Saltash Roundabout – 3 miles towards Plymouth. Turn left at the Saltash roundabout, turn right at mini roundabout and Waitrose is in front of you.

Lidl at Saltash - 3 miles towards Plymouth. Turn right at the Saltash roundabout, Lidl is a short distance on the left.

Morrisons is at Liskeard – follow A38 towards Liskeard, take first Liskeard sign. At roundabout turn right, cross road bridge and at next roundabout turn right. You can see Morrisons on your left.

Sainsbury’s is across the Tamar Bridge, a few miles up on right hand side. You can’t miss it! top

In the summer when it’s busy, is there always a long wait for the showers?

We have recently refurbished our amenity block and now have a total of seven showers. At busy times of the day there may be a short wait. top

What are the arrival and departure times?

Pitches are available from 12 midday and should be vacated by 11am on day of departure. If you wish to arrive earlier or leave a little later, please ask or call Reception.

During peak summer and school holidays, arrivals are from 12 midday until 6pm.

For late arrivals, arriving between 6pm and 8pm there is a £10 late arrival fee. For arrivals between 8pm and 10pm, there is a £20 late arrival fee. There are absolutely no arrivals allowed after 10pm.

The earliest departure from site is 7am when the barrier opens - sorry but there are no exceptions since this disturbs other guests.

Where can I take my dog for a walk?

We have a very small dog walk on the park - with a dog waste bin. We do not have any dog exercise areas on site and there is no dog exercise allowed in our camping paddock. However, there are loads of country lanes to walk down around here and public footpaths across open fields. The nearest beach to here is also dog friendly. Please remember to pick up after your dog otherwise public footpaths will be closed to dog walkers and yes, we do have dogs of our own! top

Where is the nearest dog walking beach?

The nearest beaches are the ones at Seaton and Downderry, just over 10 minutes in the car and sandy. There is a café on the beach – open all year. top

Where is the nearest pub?

The Bullers Arms in Landrake is our nearest pub. It’s a mile to the pub so is a 15-20 minute walk. You will need a torch if you walk back in the dark. The pub has recently had a new temporary landlord and the recent reviews on Tripadvisor have been good (Jan 14).

You can also walk to the Notter Bridge Pub and restaurant. Althought it is a little over one mile downhill you will need to climb the fairly steep hill on the way back. Serves great food and is next to the river. A good place to walk to for lunch. top

Where is the nearest bus stop?

The bus stop is literally at the end of the road, near the junction with the A38. National Express coaches stop there as well. It’s about a mile – so about a 15-20 minute walk (close to the Bullers Inn pub). top

Can I get a taxi into Plymouth?

Absolutely, you can find taxi company details in the Information Centre. top

What is there to do for children on the park?

We have an adventure play area for children. We also have a giant Connect 4 and a Giant Chess set. In the summer and peak periods, we have archery evenings (often with a BBQ). We have a paddock where children can play football and in the summer, we will be having organised games such as rounders, softball and cricket. top

Is cycling or scooters allowed on the park?

Sadly no. All our road's are gravel and we have had a few nasty accidents with children on bikes. It has also been known for children to spin on their bikes and spray gravel onto cars and awnings. It was much easier for us to have a no cycles or scooters policy.

However, there are some very quiet lanes for cycling and there are some excellent cycle paths up in the Tamar Valley, the Plym Trail and the Camel Trail and more recently new trails at Lanhydrock (NT) and also Cardinham Woods - all of which are really worth doing. top
