Chris and Ian became the new owners of Dolbeare Park on 28 February 2007 after a four year search for that perfect park!

Dolbeare Park is situated in the countryside of South East Cornwall but just a short drive from the beach, the moors and the city of Plymouth - and only just one mile from the A38 - one of the main roads into Cornwall.

Chris spent her childhood caravanning with her parents who belonged to the Middlesex Centre of the Caravan Club and attended over 250 weekend rallies around the UK.

Ian's experience of camping originated with the Duke of Edinburgh Award in the Lake District and on Dartmoor thirty years ago. Since then, together we have been fortunate to have camped all around the world and have found some superb sites, from a basic but sandy site in the Atacama Desert in Chile, to beautiful well manicured lawns in California and our favourite being a fantastic beach location in Kauai, Hawaii.

Prior to our arrival, the park had become neglected due to lack of investment.  We are now developing Dolbeare Park, implementing our own ideas and plans using experience gained from our professional backgrounds and our extensive travel experience.

The results of our improvements have already resulted in a Visit Britain 5* Award and a coveted Green Tourist Business Scheme 'Gold' Award for our environmental and conservation activities.

We have received some fantastic reviews from our guests providing further endorsements of our improvements.

Our Information Centre contains a huge amount of local information, walks, bus timetables, bird spotting, Nature and Wildlife Quiz, places to explore in and around the surrounding area and also what and how we recycle.

Our shop sells fresh bread and croissants, tomatoes from our own greenhouse, wine, beer and local meat from our local butcher for the evening barbeque.

If you are looking for a well run site, warm and friendly staff that are pleased to see you and help you, then Dolbeare Park is the place you need to head for, we look forward to meeting you.

"Had a lovely few days on this quiet, spotlessly clean and friendly camp-site. The facilties were great for the children who made friends and played football, on the adventure playground and even a spot of giant chess."
