Awards

We're really proud of our awards - everyone at Dolbeare Park has worked hard to achieve these awards and we all work just as hard to retain and enhance them. We all have a commitment to the park, the landscape and the environment - to look after it as best we can to ensure it`s longevity.

In June 2010 we increased our score with the Green Tourist Business Scheme for sustainable tourism to 90%. To date only one other five star touring park in the southwest has managed to achive Gold with GTBS.

In February 2010 we were voted 12th place in Practical Caravan's Top 100 Parks. A big thanks to our guests for their votes last year - we are trying even harder this year.

In December 2009 we were delighted to receive the five star Loo Of The Year award for the cleanliness and wide range of high quality family and disabled facilities available in our amenity block.

Following our Silver success in the Cornwall Tourism Awards 2009, on 26 October we also achieved the status of Finalist in the South West Tourism Excellence Awards 2009/10. These awards recognise outstanding levels of customer service, plus exemplary facilities, along with a commitment to sustainability, recycling and the environment and being accessible to all.

Awarded SilverOn 15 October, at the Headland Hotel in Newquay we were delighted to be presented with the Silver Award for the Holiday/Caravan/Camping Park of the Year by Kirstie Allsop on behalf of the Cornwall Tourism Awards 2009.

On 9 September we were awarded our second David Bellamy Silver accolade

In July 2009 we were really pleased to be awarded our 4th AA pennant with a quality score of 81%. The inspector's report included the following on our refurbished amenity block:

The new conservatory style dishwashing and laundry room is impressively spacious and a light and airy working environment. The two new family rooms have been so thoughtfully planned and executed at considerable expense and with top quality fittings. The tiling throughout both the ladies and gents toilets, with their warm inviting interiors, non-slip flooring and again quality fittings, are a credit to your taste and design skills. I am going to find it difficult to stop talking about your showers which just bowled me over. Sensor controlled showers I’ve met before but not ones where temperature and flow is controlled by waving your hand in front of a control panel. With heating provided by both radiators and under-floor nothing has been left to chance.

In February 2009 we were awarded Regional Winner of the Practical Caravan Top 100 Parks 2009 and voted at number 8 out of 100 for the whole country - a big thank you to all of our guests who cast these votes.

We're also proud of the conservation work that we are putting into Dolbeare Park. In 2008 we were really pleased to receive the prestigous Green Tourist Business Scheme Gold Award. We are the first caravan park in Cornwall to have reached this achievement and the only caravan park in South West England to have reached both 5 star and Gold. We have also achieved Silver level in the David Bellamy Award scheme.

In July 2008 following the improvements we made we increased our Visit Britain rating to 92% and achieved five stars - another significant first for Dolbeare Park and one that we are really proud of.

In 2007 we reached the Walkers Welcome and Cyclists Welcome criteria - more firsts for Dolbeare Park.

In support of our conservation activities we are members of the Cornwall Association of Sustainable Tourism (CoAST) and the Cornwall Wildlife Trust.
